About ICHIFAMA

Welcome to ICHIFAMA

We are a Zimbabwean, farmer-led social enterprise founded in Chivi. We operate at the Water–Energy–Food Nexus, building and managing financially sustainable Water Resilience Hubs. These hubs aim to reduce water poverty and food loss through the aggregation of smallholder produce, solar-powered cold rooms and closed-loop organic-waste recycling.

What People Say About Us

"I used to lose 15 birds after harvest because there was no cold chain. With ICHIFAMA's incubation and brooding support, I now save more birds and conserve borehole water."

*****
Mrs N. Outgrower, Ward 20, Chivi

"Roadrunner chicks from ICHIFAMA require less water to raise, which is ideal for our dry area. Black soldier fly (BSF) feed saves me $40 per month on feed."

*****
T.M. Youth Farmer, Masvingo

"Our children now receive eggs twice a month from the Hub. The eggs complement the beans served at school."

*****
Madam E. Masanire, Teacher

"We are a group of 10 women raising laying hens together. Our poultry provides eggs, income and nutrition for our families in a climate-smart way."

*****
Chairlady, Chivi Women Poultry Group

"The ICHIFAMA model combines a Village Business Unit with a cold chain. It helps address water challenges by protecting poultry flocks and reducing waste."

*****
Mr Tapera, AGRITEX Officer, Ward 16

"At Growth Point, water runs twice a week through ZINWA prepaid services. ICHIFAMA's 10kL rainwater harvesting and solar borehole system shows how communities can reduce pressure on council water supplies."
